Facilities at Sand Creek Stables
Sand Creek Stables occupies approximately 250 acres of lush, flat pastureland in the eastern
part of North Carolina. Most of the structures on our grounds are 15 to 20 years old and have
been modified internally to make them state of the art. We are proud of what we have to offer
and feel like these facilities help to make us one of the leading equine facilities in Riata.
Barns

One of our main training barns

View of our stalls in the barn
- 12' x 12' stalls constructed out of wood
- Sliding stall doors
- Top half of the walls and doors with wrought iron bars
- Rubber stall mats
- Concrete aisles
- Hot and cold running water
- Wash stalls (number varies by barn)
- Tack room(s)
Sand Creek Stables is currently equipped with two 40 identical barns that house our horses in training. Each barn is equipped with the following:
- One office
- 2 sets of 3 wash racks (one at each end)
- 2 large tack rooms
- One large feed room
- Cross-ties throughout the barn aisle
While a majority of our stallions are housed in one of the two training barns, this 12 stall barn offers some "privacy" to and houses some of our more aggressive stallions that we do not want to be made available to the general public who are off and on our farm. The stallion barn offers the following ammenities:
- One office
- 1 wash rack
- 1 tack room
- One small feed room
- Stallion exhibition area
- Complete wooden walls between stalls, but wrought iron bars on the stall front
Just what it says it is, a place for us to store excess hay. This barn is located across the property from our barns in case of a fire.
Training Facilities
At Sand Creek Stables, we train in a wide variety of disciplines, while focusing on our saddle seat horses. The following ammenities are available for us to train horses:

- Indoor lighted arena with jumps and dressage lettering available. Bleachers around one end.
- 2 lighted sand outdoor arenas. Jumps and dressage letterin available. Bleachers along the side
- 6 round pens located throughout the property
- Small cross country course along the back side of the property with jumps of sizes and spreads ranging over all levels
- Large amounts of trails, as we do not believe that a horse should be worked in the arena on a daily basis
- Access to the Eastern North Carolina Agriculture Center

Pastures
All pastures are fenced with brown, plank fencing and a line of electric fence runs along the inside of the top board. Each pasture is equipped with its own outside opening gate. Sand Creek Stables employees a farm manager who is capable of fertilizing and caring for our pastures and maintaining safety for our horses. The following pasture is currently fenced:
- 12 individual 1 acre pastures (Attached to the stalls of the stallion barn)
- 10 5 acre group turnout pastures
- 3 20 acre group turnout pastures
- 5 10 acre pastures for horses to stay out in
